"It’s all about the notifications, not the apps", this quote by Fiona Spruill, head of global growth at Meetup, really struck a chord.

Not that we don’t believe in Beautiful Apps anymore ;) But, we do agree that push notifications are among the most effective tools you can use to engage your audience. We released exciting new features: geofencing, beacons, the scheduled push, the QR code reader, the community add-on, authentication... We announced GoodBarber Open Product, a new development which is going to open new horizons, for us and for our users with developing skills.

How much does it cost to make an app?

This is one of the biggest questions these days. The best answer was probably given by Vlad Lokshin, who compared the cost of a making app to the cost of having a car. This comparison is not to be taken literally of course, but he makes a good point: for apps, just like with cars, you can choose the standard model, with no particular comfort or gadgets, or you can add extra features. And the bottom line is: the more things you want, the higher the price! That is why we couldn't stress enough the importance of defining your concept well, before you even start developing your app. Knowing beforehand what you want inside your application will help with budgeting. The price of your app will indeed depend on what your project entails and how you want to achieve it.
