Selling an App for the First Time?

Written by on Thursday, March 31st 2016

Monetization of apps is a hot topic that everyone wants to know about, and we’ve covered the basics on how to do that via advertising and charging users a fee in the stores. However, there is a whole other concept, possibly the most profitable one, that many people completely overlook. Have you ever considered entirely taking over the app-making process for someone who doesn’t have the time or desire, and charging for this service and final product?

While many web and marketing agencies are seeing the great value in adding apps to their portfolio of offerings, don’t let the idea of having to be an established agency scare you away, because it’s not at all a prerequisite. Freelancers, both amateur and experienced, are taking advantage of this large demand that needs to be satisfied, by targeting small businesses whose profits and marketing strategies can be greatly enhanced, just with the the addition of an app.

Written by on Wednesday, March 30th 2016

With where social apps are headed, we were not at all surprised to witness some enthusiasm surrounding the release of our Chat Add-On. While it is going to evolve over time, we felt it was important to address early on the security issues that are bound to arise from adding a social dimension to your mobile app. What's more, with school apps and an increasingly young audience turning to smartphones and social apps in particular, a reminder of best practices seemed all the more essential. Now, over to Cassie Phillips, from SecureThoughts:

How to market your app to millennials?

Written by on Thursday, March 10th 2016

Millennials are a crucial target these days. Born between 1980-2000, they are a difficult target to reach, but once you have them hooked you’ve secured yourself an engaged crowd. Basically, often early adopters, they can make or break you.

In the mobile industry in particular, they are a target group: technology is an inherent part of their daily lives, day in and day out. But regardless, their attention is difficult to catch.

Reason n°1: they are overwhelmed by solicitation.

Reason n°2: they are demanding users, easily rushing from one thing to the next when they aren’t satisfied.

Mobile World Congress 2016, it's a wrap! Our feedback

Written by on Friday, February 26th 2016

Mobile World Congress 2016 has been a very good edition for our team. It was the 4th participation of GoodBarber as an exhibitor, and the experience was full of intense pitches, demos, feedbacks and meetings.

Over the years, we get to see more and more friendly faces in the crowd and some of them have now become customers. It's always a good experience to meet with them in person. Having a chat with our customers is the most rewarding feeling and their feedback is valuable to keep on pushing ourselves to enhance GoodBarber.

Mobile World Congress was also the perfect occasion to make contacts with other people in our industry and exchange ideas. This year, we organized a MeetUp to get together with our resellers, journalists, bloggers and anyone curious to have a chat in a more relaxed atmosphere about our product. We shared our big highlights for 2015 and gave a preview of what's in the pipe for 2016. It was amazing to discover the powerful use that some of the attendees are making of our product. It was very inspiring.

Sure MWC can be tiring at times, we probably drank too many cups of coffee for our own good, saw very little of Beautiful Barcelona, but, at the end of the day, we got the most energy from the people we met along the way!
